Background

I graduated in History from Universidade do Porto, Portugal, in 1984.

In 1994 I finished a MA General Degree at University of Edinburgh where I was able to choose a variety of undergraduate subjects: Linguistics 1 and 2; Artificial Intelligence 1 and 2; French 1 and 2; Sociology 1 and Mathematical Studies.

In 2021 I concluded the Post Graduation Certificate in Academic Practice.

My collaboration with The University of Edinburgh dates from 2005, first as a tutor, language assistant and  now, as a teaching fellow for Portuguese Language.

I am also responsible for the running of the Portuguese Language Centre, representing the Instituto Camões, Portugal. This Centre holds a wide range of literary and audiovisual materials for the study of Portuguese and is also a dedicated library space for students of Portuguese.
