Human cognitive neuroscience seminar

Speaker: Dr Sandra Wiebe (associate professor in Developmental Science in the Department of Psychology, University of Alberta)

Topic: Early Childhood Executive Function in Context

Abstract: Executive functions are the cognitive abilities involved in regulating thoughts and actions, often in response to changing contextual demands. In this talk, I will present several studies examining how context affects children’s executive function performance, and on developmental and cross-cultural differences in children’s ability to monitor context and use contextual information to guide their behaviour, based on task performance and event-related potentials.
