Title: Method in madness? The jungle of discourse and pragmatic markers

Abstract: The talk will illustrate a research project that hopes to help coordinate the abundant but piecemeal evidence on English discourse and pragmatic markers, creating a resource that will support further research. One of the consequences of this effort could be the gaining of further insight into highly debated issues concerning these types of marker; some of these issues will be mentioned and briefly illustrated in the talk.
