Workshops

A series of informal, interactive workshops for undergraduate students will take place throughout the semester. These sessions are aimed at helping you boost the quality and effectiveness of your academic work. Topics include:

  • Succeeding at university
  • Making notes in lectures
  • Time management
  • Getting started with essay writing

Places can be booked from two weeks in advance through MyEd. Find out more and see the full Semester One workshop schedule:

LearnBetter

LearnBetter is an online self-enrol resource available in Learn, the University’s Virtual Learning Environment.

It contains useful materials and exercises to familiarise you with approaches to academic study and to help you develop effective working and learning strategies.

Quick consultations

One-to-one consultations will be on offer to all taught students throughout the first four weeks of the semester. Whether you are doing well and simply want to build on your strengths, or you’d like to change your approach to studying - these sessions allow you to sit down with one of our advisors to discuss ways to enhance your study technique.

Quick consultation appointments must be booked in advance by email. Please type “Quick Consultation” in the subject heading. Slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
