International Office photography competition

What makes you part of Edinburgh? Perhaps it’s the beautiful scenery, the diverse community, the endless opportunities - or something completely different! Share the image that sums up what it means for you to “Be Edinburgh” and be in with a chance of winning one of ten cash prizes.

Joggers in the meadows

All current international students can submit one photo, which must fall into one of these five categories:

  • Be social
  • Be urban
  • Be local
  • Be campus
  • Be active

In addition, current Online Distance Leaners and matriculated students who have been on a ‘Go Abroad’ or exchange scheme in 2013 are eligible to enter a sixth category:

  • Be Edinburgh abroad

So whatever it is that makes you a part of Edinburgh, enter your image now.

How to enter

Entries should be submitted through the competition Facebook page, where you can also ‘like’ and vote for your favourite images.

Entries and voting will close on Sunday 17 November 2013 at midnight.

Winners and Prizes

An independent panel of judges will choose a winner in each category, as well as an overall winner and runner-up.

Additionally, there will be prizes for the Principal’s Choice, chosen by Sir Timothy O’Shea, and the People’s Choice, for the photo with the most votes on Facebook.

Winners will be announced in December 2013.

For more details on the categories and to view last year’s winning images, see the International Office website.
