The period of general University closure for 2012 is from 5pm on Friday 21 December 2012 to 9am on Thursday 3 January 2013.
Generally, University buildings close for this period and staff are required to take leave, unless the Head of School/Support Department has made alternative arrangements.
The designated public holidays for all staff, other than those who are routinely required to work, will be:
The remaining four closure days (24, 27, 28, and 31 December 2012) will be taken from annual leave entitlement.
Staff who wish to take additional leave immediately before or after the closure period should make their request to their manager in the normal way.
Those functions providing a service during this general period of closure will publish their opening times separately and staff who are required to work will be notified by their manager, in the normal way.
