Christmas closure: reminder

Staff are reminded that the University is to close from 5pm on Tuesday 23 December 2014 until 9am on Monday 5 January 2015.

Generally, University buildings close for this period and staff are required to take leave, unless the Head of School/Support Department has made alternative arrangements.

Designated public holidays

The designated public holidays for all staff, other than those who are routinely required to work, will be:

• 25 December 2014 (Christmas Day)
• 26 December 2014 (Boxing Day)
• 1 January 2015 (New Year’s Day)
• 2 January 2015

The remaining four closure days (24, 29, 30 and 31 December 2014) will be taken from annual leave entitlement.

Staff who wish to take additional leave immediately before or after the closure period should make their request to their manager in the normal manner.

Those functions providing a service during this period of closure will publish their opening times separately.

Staff who are required to work will be notified by their manager, in the normal manner.
