How to vote

The Rectorial Election 2009 was primarily conducted electronically with students and staff casting votes online through the MyEd portal.

The Alternative Vote System

The Rectorial Election is undertaken using the Alternative Vote System of preferential voting.

Voters are required to indicate their preferences from the list of candidates standing for the position.

Voters rank each candidate in order of preference by putting “1” against their first preference, and if they so wish, “2” against their second preference and so on.

Full details of how the system works are available as as PDF download (requires a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader).

The deadline has now passed for requesting a postal vote.

Please note you will not be able to access the online voting system if you have been granted a postal vote.
