The James Tait Black Postgraduate Scholarship Fund is a unique programme that supports talented English Literature students at the University.

Linked to the prestigious James Tait Black Prizes, the scholarships give our brightest students the opportunity to work closely with world-leading specialists in English Literature.
Scholars will benefit from exclusive access to the eminent academics involved with the James Tait Black Prizes, as well as world renowned authors and our institutional partners.
Under their supervision, students will be guided in creating original contributions to the discipline.
Students will also engage with key events in the James Tait Black calendar as part of their studies, including the Edinburgh International Book Festival ceremony in August.
Today, postgraduate students face significant financial challenges to continuing their academic careers, however alumni and friends of the University have the ability to turn the dream of a world-class education into a reality.
