Every year we create events to engage our younger audience with the many exciting subjects they could learn at university.

SCI-FUN

SCI-FUN is an innovative mix of interactive science exhibits, accessible science shows and presentations on scientific careers.

The roadshow visits schools, community groups, science festivals and other events throughout Scotland and the North of England.

Scottish Initiative for Biotechnology Education

The Scottish Initiative for Biotechnology Education (SIBE) aims to enhance understanding of biotechnology.

SIBE develops educational resources for teachers and school students, runs biotechnology workshops in schools and organises exciting public science events.

The Chemical Connection

Organised by the staff of the School of Chemistry, Chemical Connection explores some of the ways that chemistry affects us all.

The team take fun and exciting chemistry workshops and talks into schools and community groups in remote areas.

Gene Jury

The Gene Jury workshops are a fun and interactive way for school pupils aged 7 to 12 to explore modern bioscience and the impact it has on everyday life.

Kick Start

Kickstart is a free week long "summer school" designed to provide students with a fun and useful "taster" of studying at University.

Recruitment and admissions

We routinely visit schools throughout the UK and provide a range of services for teachers and advisors regarding student admissions.

Widening participation

We host a range of widening participation activities for local school students and their advisors.

Research Communication in Action

PhD students and postdoctoral researchers interested in communicating their research, from basic underlying principles to the latest developments.

All have been mentored in communicating to school groups.
