Festivals, Cultural and City Events

Who We Are

Our Team

The University of Edinburgh’s Festival, Culture and City Events is a collaborative team who have experience as live event project managers and have worked in arts venues, festivals, theatre and cinema management throughout the UK.

The team has grown its portfolio from managing and programming small theatres to coordinating extensive summer Fringe Festival activity.  Our breadth of knowledge includes front of house and bar management, box office, health and safety and licensing.

We are passionate about the creative use of the University Estate and enabling and supporting colleagues to contribute to the cultural life of the city.  We coordinate year-round activity across the campus supporting ad hoc events and festivals within the city including Edinburgh International Film Festival, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay and with the Edinburgh International Science Festival in the National Museum of Scotland.  TV & film location work include, most recently, Fast and Furious 9 and Songs of Praise in McEwan Hall.

We have produced highlights such as The Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors in Old College Quad in 2014, Tony Oursler’s Influence Machine in George Square Gardens in 2016 and Film in the Old College Quad (2014 to 2016)
