Join us for a panel discussion to celebrate the 150th year since the publication of Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of Species’.

“Presenting Edinburgh’s Dangerous Ideas” will explore how Darwin’s ideas have continued to influence our thinking on a wide range of topics.

A distinguished panel of experts, chaired by Professor Aubrey Manning, will discuss Darwin’s ideas in the context of current academic thought.

This event will be held in the McEwan Hall on Monday 23 November at 6pm.

The panel is composed of University of Edinburgh academics from a wide range of fields:

Professor Dorothy Crawford, Robert Irvine Professor of Medical Microbiology and Assistant Principal for Public Understanding of Medicine.

Professor Simon Kirby, Chair of Language Evolution.
Professor Sandy Tudhope, Professor of Climate Studies, Head of Global Change Research Group.
