Pascal Lamy, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, is to talk about Europe’s troubled situation as he delivers the next Montague Burton lecture.
Mr Lamy, a French politician and a former European commissioner for trade, is the fifth Director-General of the World Trade Organisation. He is currently serving his second four-year term.
Mr Lamy will deliver his lecture, A Troubled Europe In A Troubled World, as part of the Montague Burton Visiting Professor of International Relations lecture series. He will also receive an honorary degree from the University.
The lecture series is named after Montague Burton, knighted for his services to industrial relations and founder of the clothes chain Burton.
