Senate has recently agreed that each of its meetings should have discussion/debate on a high-level strategic academic issue.
To initiate this, the 4th June 2008 Senatus will feature a debate focused on the issue of sustainability in the University. This will start with five minute speakers on:
There will then be about 45 minutes for debate.
A Senate discussion space has been created to enable discussion of the topic prior to the meeting.

The Senatus Academicus is the most senior academic committee of the University.
The Senatus meets five times a year. It superintends and regulates the teaching and discipline of the University and has the power to promote research.
