Honorary degree for Neil Armstrong

The astronaut Neil Armstrong has been awarded an honorary degree by the University.

The ceremony was held in the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington DC.

Mr Armstrong received the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa.The laureation was given by NASA astronaut and Edinburgh graduate Piers Sellers.

The event coincided with the 150th anniversary meeting of the University’s General Council, held in Washington to celebrate our American links.
