An Academy Award-winning director, a social entrepreneur and the sculptor who created the Kelpies are among those receiving honorary awards.

Oliver Stone, the prominent and politically engaging American filmmaker, will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa on Tuesday, 4 July 2017
On Wednesday 5 July, social entrepreneur and co-founder of the Social Bite sandwich shops Josh Littlejohn will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science in Social Science.
On the same day, the author, broadcaster and former editor of The Scotsman and The Times in Scotland Magnus Linklater will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa.
Professor Kurt Deketelaere, the Secretary-General of the League of European Research Universities, will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws on Thursday 6 July 2017.
On Friday 7 July 2017, the science journalist, presenter and executive producer Dr Michael Mosley will be awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science.
The artist and sculptor Andy Scott – best known for his popular Kelpies creation in Falkirk – will receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor honoris causa on Saturday, 8 July 2017.
