A celebration of the University's diverse international community is taking place this month.
Gather Festival will see a range of events take place across the University from 4 to 12 March.
Gather celebrates culture, community and global citizenship throughout the University, Edinburgh and beyond.
The University employs staff from more than 100 countries and more than 150 nationalities are represented in Edinburgh’s student community.
The festival is organised by the Students’ Association, Edinburgh Global and other University departments as well as student and community groups.
The festival has a rich programme of events encompassing food and drink, music, art, sport, film, language and dance.
Events include language cafés, cooking workshops, debates and online activities.
The Make Your Mark workshop will explore new creative methods with Gather’s lead designer, Edinburgh College of Art student Yasmin Serrano-Price.
Materials will be provided and all participants will take away their own artwork.
The workshop takes place on Sunday 12 March at the Edinburgh College of Art.
Free film screenings and discussions, related to the theme of community and culture, have been organised at locations across the city.
The programme will showcase short films, animations, documentaries and features.
Films include BAFTA Scotland award-winning animation, No Place like Home, by Edinburgh College of Art graduate Cat Bruce.
World Pancake Day will be celebrated on Friday 10 March at the Chaplaincy as participants learn about cultural similarities through pancakes from around the globe.
