MBChB graduates are provisionally licenced to practice by the UK General Medical Council. The GMC Education Department reviews the quality of Edinburgh’s MBChB programme regularly.

The MBChB Quality Assurance committee reports annually to the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Quality Assurance Executive on the quality of the programme.
Members of the Medical Students’ Council, including student representatives from each Year of the MBChB programme, meet regularly with Year Directors and other senior MBChB staff.
