Postgraduate study

Supporting documents

We need evidence that you meet our eligibility criteria, from evidence of English Language proficiency to your degree transcript and references.

Supporting documentation, such as degree certificates and references, must be uploaded to your application. Advice can be found here on which documents you should have ready, and what format they should be saved in. We are unable to make an unconditional offer until all supporting documents have been uploaded.

Degree certificate

We require a scanned copy of your original undergraduate or most recent degree certificate.

Final degree transcript

A degree transcript is a record of the courses you have taken and grades achieved throughout a degree programme. The transcript is normally given together with the degree certificate.

If you do not have a final transcript you should upload an interim academic transcript in order for your application to be assessed on courses and marks to date. You may be offered a conditional place on the programme, on the condition that the expected award is achieved and an uploaded version of the final degree certificate and final transcript will be uploaded.

References must be submitted on formal headed paper, and signed and dated by the referee. Information should include the following:

  • Title and position of referee.
  • How long they have known you and in what capacity.
  • Their opinion of your ability to manage the study required on this programme.
  • Any additional information they may feel is useful.

If you obtain your reference personally, you can upload it to support your application. The reference must be on the headed paper of the referee's institution and signed & dated by the referee.

If you don't have references to upload, you will be given the opportunity to enter your referees' email addresses on the online form; the system will then email your referees automatically. This allows your referees to upload the references electronically to support your application.

Evidence of English language proficiency

If English is not your first language you must provide evidence of good written and spoken English skills. The level of English language qualifications that are required depends on your programme.
