Accommodation
The conference takes place at the Edinburgh Conference Centre on the campus of Heriot-Watt University which is located to the west of the city centre. Journey time from the city centre to Heriot-Watt is typically 40 minutes by bus.
We are able to offer you a range of accommodation to suit different budgets:

If you requested Heriot-Watt accommodation and have paid the £250 fee, you will have received an email (sent on 24 Jule 2016) confirming the booking made on your behalf.

CHECK-IN AND RECEPTION - LEONARD HORNER A BLOCK ENTRANCE - FOR THOSE ARRIVING 07.30-22.00 HRS: Due to building work at Heriot-Watt’s main entrance, when you arrive at Heriot-Watt University you should go to the LEONARD HORNER HALL. RECEPTION WILL BE AT LEONARD HORNER A BLOCK ENTRANCE, see attached map. Reception will be open there from 07.30-22.00 hrs and you will be given the key for your room in the Christina Miller Building.
CHECK-IN FOR THOSE ARRIVING OUTSIDE THESE HOURS: If you are arriving before 07.30 or after 22.00, it would be appreciated if you could let me know in advance (there is no problem if you cannot let me know). On arrival you should go to the LEONARD HORNER A BLOCK ENTRANCE RECEPTION and use the intercom/phone which will connect to the security team. They will come to reception and provide the key for your accommodation. Please note that security will respond to a check-in request as soon as they possibly can, however, there may be a delay if they are dealing with another matter on campus.
ENTRY TO THE BEDROOMS: Entry to the bedrooms will be from 15.00 onward and the check-out time is by 10.00. There will be a 20 GBP charge for any bedroom key not returned to reception by 11.00 on the morning of departure. Failure to check- out by noon will result in the full accommodation charge of 50 GBP applying.
BEDROOMS: The bedrooms in the Christina Miller Building are large study bedrooms, the rooms are serviced daily, have en-suite shower and toilet, internet access and tea/coffee facilities. Attached is a picture of a typical room for your information. Please note that the rooms do not have hairdryers, clock alarm radios or TV and there is no access to kitchens. Instructions for how to use the internet and make/receive phone calls will be in the bedroom.
BREAKFAST: Monday 18 July to Friday 22 July, breakfast will be available from College Lounge in the Hugh Nisbet Building from 0700 hrs to 0930 hrs - these times are subject to change so please check with reception upon arrival. Breakfast will be authorised by a meal card/voucher given to you at check in.
For those booked to check-in on Saturday 16 July, breakfast on Sunday 17 July will be available from Café Brio in the Hugh Nisbet Building from *0830 hrs to 1000 hrs. Note, this is continental breakfast with hot rolls available (bacon, sausage etc).
For those booked to depart on Saturday 23 July, breakfast on Saturday 23 July will again be available from Café Brio in the Hugh Nisbet Building from *0830 hrs to 1000 hrs as above.
