Literatures, Languages & Cultures

Undergraduate visiting students

Study with us for a semester, or a year! We welcome visiting undergraduate students from around the world on ‘study abroad’ programmes.

Are you studying for a degree and would like to spend some of it with us? We welcome visiting undergraduate students for a single semester, or a whole year, as part of your study abroad programme.

Based in the heart of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital and festival city, the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) is a fantastic place to study a wide range of courses across five main areas: English and Scottish Literature; European Languages and Cultures; Asian Studies; Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies; and Celtic and Scottish Studies.

You’ll study on the University of Edinburgh’s main campus, within walking distance of world-class libraries, museums and galleries, a great variety of bars and restaurants, sports facilities and beautiful green space, cinemas and theatres, historic buildings and spectacular landmarks.

Like you, our students and staff come from all over the world, forming a friendly, supportive community of learners and teachers who are interested in, and welcoming of, other cultures.

There’s plenty of advice and guidance to help you, both before you join us and after you arrive, from Edinburgh Global and our Visiting Student Office, to your individual Personal Tutor.
