Online learning can involve courses that are delivered fully online or courses comprising of a mixture of on campus and online elements, often referred to as blended learning.

The following courses are a small selection of courses on offer and highlight innovation and diversity of approaches to online learning.

Data Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI)

The Data Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) interdisciplinary programme offers different entry points across the sciences, medicine, arts and humanities. The programme offers learners the option of studying for single courses to gain Postgraduate Professional Development (PPD) or to study for a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc.

The Digital Education programme offers students a critical and practical perspective on Digital Education. The IAD offer a small number of bursaries for University of Edinburgh staff to complete the core 40 credit core course, An Introduction to Digital environments for learning.

MOOCs

MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) are free short online courses. The University have developed and delivered over 50 MOOCs in a range of disciplines to over 2 million learners.
