Booking: these courses generally open for booking one month in advance of the shown date. If you do not see a live booking link please check back nearer the course date.
Cancelling: If you need to cancel your booking, please do so at your earliest opportunity and at least 3 days before the event. Someone else may be able to take your place, but we need time to contact them. Also, although you are not charged for an event, there are costs we incur (e.g. photocopying) which relate directly to places reserved.
How to cancel: you can cancel your booking via the MyEd Event Booking Channel. Go to MyEd and then the Event Booking Channel. Click on "My Bookings" - here you will have the option to cancel your place.
We maintain attendance registers; unexpected absences will be noted. If you consistently fail to attend, or repeatedly cancel with very short notice, you may be prevented from booking future IAD events.
The online course will take place in semester 1, 2016-2017, Monday 3rd October and run for 5 weeks, ending on Friday 4th November.
An entirely online course for staff who are involved with online programmes at the University of Edinburgh. Participants will gain direct experience of working in an online environment (Blackboard Learn). Developed by the Institute for Academic Development and Information Services. The 5 week course requires at least three hours participation per week. Active participation in weekly discussions and other group activities is an essential part of the course.
Dates for virtual classrooms (synchronous sessions) will be issued in advance.
The course is tutored by Head of Academic Development - Digital Education (IAD), with a different weekly guest speaker from across the University, who will provide their experience and expertise on a different theme each week.
There is no charge for this course.
