A guide to the University's divinity and religious studies collections.
New College Library houses the main collection of divinity and religious studies literature and some theses.
Most General Collections material, and all post-1986 material is listed in the online catalogue.
For some pre-1986 material, the New College Library sheaf catalogue must be consulted.
Reserve collections of high demand titles on student reading lists are shelved in the Reserve area of the Library Hall, which has a dedicated self-issue machine. Books are shelved by LC classification number.
Current lending stock can be found in the Library Hall and in Stack 1. Most stock is arranged by LC classification number but some older material in Stack 1 uses the Union Theological Seminary (UTS) classification.
Current journal issues are in Library Hall. Older, bound volumes are shelved alphabetically by journal title in Stack 2.
Some older lending stock is kept at the Library Annexe and must be requested using the online catalogue.
In 2014 Centre for the Study of World Christianity books and pamphlets were integrated into the General Collections at New College Library.
The Main Library also holds material of interest to Divinity and Religious Studies students and researchers and there are collections on allied subjects, such as philosophy and sociology.
