You can access your course materials on a mobile device using one of the apps that are available for Blackboard Learn. There are currently 2 apps that are available that work with Learn here at the University of Edinburgh: Blackboard and Blackboard Instructor .
Mobile Learn will be removed from all app stores 1 August 2017 and Blackboard will no longer support Mobile Learn after August 31, 2017.
Impact to Current Learn Mobile Users:
Current Mobile Learn users will continue to have access to Mobile Learn after it has been removed from app stores and after support ends. However, Blackboard cannot guarantee continued usability of the application.
Students should be advised to download the Blackboard.
Blackboard and Blackboard Instructor aim to present content about your courses to you in a format that is easy to use on a mobile or tablet device, the apps are available on Android and iOS, and can be downloaded from the links below.
The key difference between the apps is that Blackboard will only display courses that you are enrolled on as a student and cannot be used for developing courses, marking, etc. Blackboard Instructor is a mobile app that enables you to view course content on courses to which you are enrolled as an Instructor, connect with students in discussions, and interact with your class in Blackboard Collaborate.
The other major difference is that you can now access your Collaborate virtual classrooms on a mobile device using the Blackboard app allowing you to connect to the classes on the move using built-in video and audio.
It is recommended to download Blackboard as this will allow you to view all your courses to which you are a student within Learn.
Blackboard is available for devices running iOS 8+ and Android 4+ and Windows 8.1+
It is recommended to download Blackboard Instructor as this will allow you to view all your courses to which you are an Instructor within Learn.
