Anyone who is not a University staff member or student, who is visiting the University for educational or research purposes, and who cannot use the eduroam service, may be registered to use the Wireless service by a member of staff associated with their visit to the University.
The member of staff creating the guest account must take responsibility for the network activity of their guest and must make their guest aware of the University Computing Regulations.
An account can be created using the link below. The username and password are autogenerated with the user details and instructions displayed on the screen for local printing.
Guest accounts have a maximum duration of 7 days.
If a guest expects to stay longer than this they should be assigned a UUN by the Visitor Registration System (VRS), after which they should register with the EASE authentication system and then use their Office 365 login to connect to the wireless service.

You may use your guest wireless account to connect to the central wireless network.
Every wireless device is different, but the following instructions will help connect your device to the central wireless network.
Please note: you may have to temporarily disable your web proxy in order to bring up the login page.
Once you have successfully logged in to the central wireless network you will be able to access any internet site outside the University of Edinburgh network. Access to University of Edinburgh services is restricted to the following list of servers:
You are strongly recommended to change the initial password for your guest account.
The University of Edinburgh strongly recommends the use of a personal firewall and the encryption of your data when connected to a wireless network.
