Details of the university's SPSS site licenses.

Subscribing Schools and Units

The following Colleges and Schools are subscribed for our current agreement running from August 2021 to August 2025.  Academic staff and students within these areas are permitted home use installations of SPSS via Software Services Team. 

  • College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences 
  • College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine*
  • School of Biological Sciences
  • School of Geosciences

*Please note that the site licence does NOT cover NHS use within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

Personal Device Installation (not University managed)

Students and Staff in the above Subscribing Schools can also request an installation for use on a Personal Device via our Request Form:

SPSS for staff and students

Annual codes will start to show an expiry warning from 1st August annually, codes run out 1st September annually but there is a 1 month grace period up to 1st October for all annual codes. Filling in the form will also give you access to newest annual codes for software renewal.

 

Academic Staff and Students NOT in these schools can purchase licences, please see Purchase SPSS for prices and how to buy.

Non-Academic Staff/Admin Staff even in subscribing schools will also require an SPSS licence to be purchased.

Visitor Staff and Students

Please note that Visiting Staff and Students are not automatically entitled to SPSS under our Licence Agreement. If  are you in a subscribing school and have a Visitor Staff  member needing access to SPSS please contact Software Services Team. We will require a full-time member of staff within that subscribing unit to vouch for any visiting staff using SPSS.
