We are offering training sessions on using Media Hopper, the University's media asset management platform.
Our own YouTube if you like, students, staff and registered visitors can upload and share content via Media Hopper. It is fully integrated with the University’s two main virtual leaning environments (VLE), Learn and Moodle, so users can upload media and then publish it on the VLEs, websites, and social media channels.
Digital Skills and Training are currently offering training workshops on Media Hopper. The workshops are held in the Main Library and are open to all staff and students.
Media Hopper is based on Kaltura, an open source video platform, which has been customised to meet University requirements. It offers one central area where all University of Edinburgh related content can be easily accessed. Self-help support documents are available on the following page and user support is via the IS Helpline.
So far the workshops have been attended by staff from a variety of departments such as Biomedical Sciences, Geosciences and the Institute for Academic Development.
I’d like to use Media Hopper to embed videos with useful information for students on Learn and also on our blog.
