Lynda.com courses now searchable through DiscoverEd

Users of DiscoverEd, the university’s library discovery service, can now search for Lynda.com video content directly from within DiscoverEd.

The University of Edinburgh provides staff and students with free access to Lynda.com, an online subscription library that teaches the latest technology, digital, creative and business skills through high-quality instructional videos.

Users of DiscoverEd, the university’s library discovery service, can now search for Lynda.com video content directly from within DiscoverEd.

To search for Lynda.com content within DiscoverEd:

  1. Visit the DiscoverEd service at: http://discovered.ed.ac.uk
  2. Type your search term (e.g. skills you’re interested in learning about, keyword, software application) into the Search box and choose Search
  3. Refine the search to filter Audio Visual content only
  4. Click the View Online button
  5. Click on Lynda.com. You will then be redirected to the course you are searching for on Lynda.com

If you are a first time user of Lynda.com, you can follow the link displayed in the search results area to create your free account.

Since its launch in June 2016 the university has over 5500 subscribers who have unlimited access to over 5000 courses and videos in Lynda.com.
