What is Informatics?

The study of the structure, the behaviour, and the interactions of natural and engineered computational systems.

Research excellence

The School of Informatics has produced more world-leading and internationally excellent research (4* and 3*) than any other university in the UK in the REF 2014 assessment for computer science and informatics.

Athena SWAN Award

In September 2013 the School of Informatics won its first Athena SWAN Silver Award.


We have several introductory videos for Undergraduate, MSc and PhD students and also several exploring Robotics at Informatics.
