Postgraduate Students

What to do now

There are plenty activities to keep you busy between now and Welcome Week. Download our Getting Started guide, visit the New Students website or plan out your social activities.

Accept your place

Upon receipt of an unconditional offer, please make sure you have accepted your place through our EUCLID online system before arriving in Edinburgh.

If you are holding a conditional offer, please upload your documents required to be considered for an unconditional offer as soon as they are available, particularly if you require visa documentation.

Register as a student

The process by which you will be formally admitted to the University of Edinburgh is called matriculation.

Matriculation is a three-part process, including:

  • registration - completing online registration, paying your tuition fees and collecting your student card
  • confirm your attendance

  • fulfilling any admission criteria detailed in your offer.

Full guidance on registration is available from the new students website.

Confirmation of Attendance will be done via email with further information available soon. Your matriculation (and registration in MyEd) will *not* show as complete until then. This is normal and nothing to worry about.

How to confirm attendance and matriculate

The University has provided a self-contained website for new students.

You will find details on registering as a student, paying tuition fees and arranging accommodation as well as details of the all-important social events taking place for Welcome Week!

Please read through the site thoroughly, as it contains everything you need to know prior to and on arrival.

The New Students website includes a “Getting Started” checklist which offers advice on preparing for university and has a handy checklist of essential things for you to do as a new student.
