Global Environment & Society Academy

Neoliberal Nature Workshop

Together with a group of students from the MSc Global Environment and Society course Dr Isabelle Darmon (Sociology) is organising  a postgraduate workshop on Neoliberal Nature with Larry Lohmann (Corner house). Larry has published extensively and critically on carbon markets and now 'neoliberal climate'. The workshop will take place in Edinburgh on the 7th of April, from 4 to 7:30 (last hour around drinks).

The idea is for students/groups of students to prepare ‘reasoned’, or ‘motivated’ questions (i.e. preceded by an argument making use of the literature on the subject) to Larry on the analytical and political usefulness of the notion of ‘neoliberal’ nature, and for the problematisation of the notions opposed to it (community? The commons?).

Students or staff interested in participating should contact  Dr Isabelle Darmon, Lecturer in Sociology, School of Social and Political Science, Isabelle.Darmon@ed.ac.uk
