Climate Week Salon- Systems Thinking and Climate Change

Global Environment & Society Academy & Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability Present

Visions for Change: Climate Week salon

Date: 4th March 2015

Time: 13.30-16.30

Location: Balcony Room, Teviot Row House

This workshop will use experiential learning to develop a wider understanding of systems-level thinking, in the context of climate change. Using Perspectivity, a fun and interactive board game used by organizations such as World Bank and Greenpeace, participants will explore new perspectives on how they interact with each other and the systems within which they operate.

Following the game, participants will engage in an in-depth discussion led by GESA Steering Group Member Dr Dan van der Horst, Senior Lecturer in Environment and Society at the University of Edinburgh. Attendees will have a chance to apply learnings from the Perspectivity game to the assumptions and structures of our climate system, as well as innovative ways in which they could be reshaped.

The workshop is open to everyone, and does not require any particular background knowledge.

Note: This event is free, but ticketed. There are only 24 seats available so please only book a ticket if you are committed to attending.
