Why did you decide to fundraise for your chosen cause?

Working for the Anne Rowling Clinic I am always amazed at the generosity of our community fundraisers who often raise funds and awareness at the most difficult times of their life.

How did you raise money?

This year with the Covid pandemic, I wanted to acknowledge the generosity of our community fundraisers while at the same time bring together the researchers and staff who were, like the majority of people in the UK, having to work from home. The virtual Kiltwalk team comprised not only researchers and staff, but also a young family member of one of the team. It was good fortune that restrictions had been slightly relaxed, allowing our Edinburgh team members to coordinate their walks and cycles and meet up with each other. The weather was especially kind and over the three days of the Virtual Kiltwalk weekend, everyone had a great time and as a bonus we exceeded our target and raised £2,482, and with the Hunter Foundation topping this by 50%, the Anne Rowling Clinic will receive £3,776. Huge thanks to Kerry our Fundraising Guru, the Anne Rowling Clinic Virtual Kiltwalk team and everyone who sponsored us. Thank-you!
