Edinburgh graduate films shown at Film Festival

Short films directed by graduates from the Edinburgh College of Art were screened as part of a three-day programme showcasing new talent.

Edinburgh students on the Film, Exhibition and Curation Masters course teamed up with EIFF Director Chris Fujiwara to create the programme, Shorts from the Film Academies, which also featured shorts from graduates of Napier, National Film & Television School and London Film School.

The screenings ran from 25-27 June at Filmhouse and were divided into three thematic sections - Unspeakable Secrets; Pieces of Me, A Bit of Us; and The Heart of the Matter.

Edinburgh graduate Sarah Eke's film Chocolate Man was shown at the programme's first set of screenings, which featured films that tell stories hidden behind the facades of normal life.

Day 2 of Shorts from the Film Academies featured three films from Edinburgh graduates that explored the fragile sensation of the "I" through different stories and unique perspectives.

Four shorts from Edinburgh graduates featured in the programme's final day of screenings, which showcased shorts examining the comforts and challenges of life through various modes of filmmaking.
