Chaplaincy

Annual events

The Chaplaincy runs a variety of annual events.

Thanksgiving is organised in association with the International Office and EUSA Global, usually on the last Thursday in November. All are welcome, particularly international students and staff.

Our popular Christmas Carol Service was on 7th December 2014, in the McEwan Hall. The 2015 Carol Service will be on 6th December, in a venue to be confirmed, as the McEwan Hall will be under repair.

A Remembrance Service in association with all other Edinburgh universities took place on 9th November 2014, in the Playfair Hall in Old College.

This year's University Service took place in Greyfriars Kirk on 21st September at 11am, themed around our multi-faith Camino pilgrimage which took place over the summer (excerpts are available on our Youtube channel).

The Chaplaincy also runs a Multi-Faith Public Conversation each year; the conversation in 2014 was on Mindfulness, and the previous year on Women In Religion. The 2015 Multifaith Public Conversation took place on 9th March on ‘Can Radical Compassion win the war on Violent Extremism?'
