The four year dual award UG programme in Integrative Biomedical Sciences is taught by the new ZJE Institute, a collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and Zhejiang University in China.
Introducing BSc Integrative Biomedical Sciences (based in China)
Understanding the functioning of the human body at the molecular, cellular, organ and system levels in health and disease is the aim of biomedical science.
Biomedical scientists integrate knowledge gained from research across a range of related disciplines and apply it to the analysis of disease mechanisms. The basic research carried out by biomedical scientists is fundamental for new developments and innovation in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
Biomedical scientists develop individual scientific, experimental and critical skills that have the potential to facilitate major contributions to improvements in human health and the treatment of illness.
Study in China
This programme is taught in English by staff from Zhejiang University, the University of Edinburgh and the Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJU-UoE Institute). It will be based entirely in Haining, China.
Upon successful completion of the programme, you will be awarded BSc Integrative Biomedical Sciences from both Zhejiang University and the University of Edinburgh.
ZJU-UoE Institute
The ZJU-UoE Institute is a collaboration in the field of biomedical sciences between Zhejiang University and The University of Edinburgh. Together, we have established an international research institute at the International Campus of Zhejiang University in Haining, China, that builds on the existing strengths of our institutions, and aims to foster collaboration in teaching and research.
This is a new and exciting collaboration, and the first of its kind for both universities, making this a unique opportunity for students of biomedical sciences.
