Biological Sciences

Board of studies

The Board of Studies in the School of Biology is responsible for undergraduate programmes and courses provided by the School of Biological Sciences.

The duties of the Board include reviewing proposals for new undergraduate degree programmes and courses and for considering substantial modifications to existing programmes and courses. The Board also serves as a forum for the discussion of any issues relating to undergraduate teaching in the School of Biological Sciences.

The Board ensures that proposals are fully documented, adequately publicised, are, from an academic perspective, approved by the School and, after review, are submitted to the College Undergraduate Studies Committee for the next stage of the approval process.

Membership of the Board of Studies in the School of Biology includes all Academic Staff who contribute to teaching courses that are the responsibility of the Board, Student Representatives from the degree programmes run by the School, Delegates of other College and School teaching and administration organisations and the School Administrator.

The Board of Studies meets twice a year. Papers that have been approved by the Board of Studies are available for information and comment.
