Student representation and support
The School works towards a policy of student inclusion in committees and processes. This includes the following:
Representation
All courses have elected class representatives and this is organised in conjunction with EUSA . Routes for communication include direct oral means, e-mail, and via course WebCT discussion forums. For all courses, staff meet with student representatives through staff-student liaison committees during the semester as a key means of course monitoring and reflection. An end of course questionnaire provides a further route for feedback, general course reflection and review.
Support
Academic and pastoral support is provided personally via:
- BTO help desk in the Darwin foyer
- student advisors within the BTO
- Personal Tutors
- Course organisers and teaching teams
- Demonstrators and tutors
