The University has published its first Social Responsibility and Sustainability Report. The report gives the highlights of our progress over the 2009/10 academic year in implementing our Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy.
The report is available in two formats. The summary Edinburgh Sustainability Highlights 2009/10 is available to download.
The full report can be found on the Edinburgh Sustainability website.
The report details the University's social responsibility and sustainability achievements during the 2009/10 academic year.
Our varied successes included, receiving £95 million of social responsibility and sustainability related research funding, successfully staging Discover Science at the Edinburgh International Science Festival, and recognising individual exploits through the award of the Principal's medal.
The report has been prepared following the Global Reporting Initiative G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. The University of Edinburgh is leading the higher education sector as one of the few institutions to have reported its activities following these guidelines.
Following the guidelines, the report explains our management approach to social responsibility and sustainability, and informs University members about the various ways that they can get involved.
