SRS Highlights 2010/2011

The University has published its Social Responsibility and Sustainability Highlights 2010/2011 Report, building upon the achievements showcased in our first review.

Through our teaching, research, campus management, and our engagement with the wider community, the University continues its commitment to embedding social responsibility and sustainability in its activities.

Making Progress

With more of us aware of and contributing to the delivery of a sustainable university, our staff and students will have an ever greater impact on society.

The report highlights the activities that the University has undertaken in the community, campus, studying and research. Our successes included:

  • Establishing the OurEd website, promoting the University's activities, expertise and impacts relevant to students
  • Implementing the first phase of the University's Climate Action Plan, leading to a low carbon, resilient estate
  • Developing and launching our Sustainable Procurement Action Plan
  • Ensuring SRS issues are considered in the Taught Programmes Review Process
  • Enhancing networks of research-experienced alumni working across the world who are engaging with and contributing to the University's research, knowledge exchange and teaching.
