With summer holiday season beckoning, University staff are reminded to switch off this summer.
Before leaving the office before a period of annual leave, staff should remember to switch off lights and equipment to help the University save energy and money.
Simple steps
Where relevant, University employees should:
- switch off lights in single-occupancy rooms before leaving
- shut down PCs, switch of monitors and printers and turn off at the plug if not being remotely accessed
- ensure no equipment is left on standby
- unplug all non-essential items
