The 2013 Christmas Shutdown is upon us. This year we are offering you an opportunity to win a hamper of delicious Christmas treats for you and your colleagues as well as a hand delivered mince pie.
Every year the University closes for two weeks over Christmas. We love a long holiday as much as you do, but before you go we'd like to ask you to do one thing with us.
Can you make sure to switch off all electrical equipment and lights in your office?
Sometimes electrical items get left on while everyone is away, and it wastes a lot of energy and money that we really think could be put to better use.
It sounds simple, but we know it’s easy to overlook when you’re busy finishing up your work for the year and looking forward to the holidays.
We don’t want to go on about it. Instead we’d like to say thank you in person.
So here’s an idea. If you tell us how you are going to do your bit for the Christmas shutdown and we like it, we’ll come and personally deliver a delicious mince pie to your desk for free.
The best 20 ideas submitted will receive a mince pie and the best idea submitted will win a fabulous hamper of Christmas treats to share with their colleagues.
The ideas should be...
Stuck for ideas but really fancy winning that hamper of treats?
Well here’s a tip. We’d really like you to do something that gets everybody involved. The more awareness we generate together the more energy we’ll save.
How about pledging to get the office together to empty the fridge? Or work with your lab manager to make sure no unnessesary drying ovens are left switched on?
Complete the form below to enter the Christmas Shutdown, and we'll get in touch to let you know if you win.
