Learning through sharing
2009/10 Achievements:
- Nearly 12,000 people took Continuing Personal Education courses.
- Over 4,000 people took Continuing Professional Education courses through the Office of Lifelong Learning, in addition to courses through other parts of the University.

We offer British Council accredited English courses for international students including specialist courses for business, law and medicine.
International Summer School
The International Summer School features British literature courses for international undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers.

Languages for business
Study language courses which are tailored specifically for your business requirements.
Continuing Professional Development
Short courses, evening talks, conferences, seminars, workshops and e-learning modules in specialist topics, for those working in industry, commerce and the professions.
Scottish Tourist Guides Training
Scottish Tourist Guides Training in partnership with the Scottish Tourist Guides Association leads to an accredited award, recognised throughout the tourist industry.
For general interest
Languages for all
Part-time language courses including Arabic, Chinese, French, Italian and Spanish are available throughout the year.
Summer courses
We provide a wide selection of subjects in short, intensive courses, each year during the month of August.
