We have a great responsibility to our students, and to the world which they will go on to shape, and it is vitally important to demonstrate to them, and to all our stakeholders, that being a sustainable and socially responsible organisation is an absolute cornerstone of our ethos.

The University aspires to serve as a living laboratory - practicing what we teach and researching our own practice.
We aim to:
- manage our physical infrastructure and the procurement of goods and services in ways that maximise efficiency and effectiveness while minimising social, environmental and other risks
- encourage and support members of the University community to become effective agents of positive change, drawing on the University’s own teaching resources, including the Global Academies
- apply our own research and expertise to inform our policy and practice, and offer issues in need of study as dissertation topics
Our Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy and Implementation Plan sets out how we will build on our existing strengths to achieve our objectives.
