A number of Gaelic themed events for staff, students and members of the public will be organised throughout the year, including classes, lectures and workshops.
Gaelic Plan Launch Celebrations
The University has organised a day of events to celebrate the launch of the first University of Edinburgh Gaelic Language Plan. All are welcome to come celebrate at any or all of these events with us.
Gaelic Fair and WorkshopsWednesday 13 November 2013, 2pm

There will be a Gaelic Fair running through the afternoon, where you can find out more about Gaelic at the University. Tea and coffee will be available, and students from the Department of Celtic & Scottish Studies will be running hourly taster sessions on Gaelic language and culture through the afternoon (2.00, 3.00 & 4.00).

After the fair, there will be a reception and the formal launch of the Plan. The Principal of the University Professor Sir Timothy O’ Shea and the Chair of Celtic Languages, Literature, History and Antiquities, Professor Rob Dunbar, will be speaking to welcome the Plan.

Highland Society Cèilidh13

The University of Edinburgh Highland Society have organised a cèilidh at Teviot Row House in the evening. All are welcome to attend the cèilidh. Please note that non-student guests will need to provide identification when entering the student union.
