Our innovative student mobility and internship programme with Nanyang Technological University in Singapore enables Edinburgh students to undertake internships with Syngenta (India), Glaxo-Smith-Kline and the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (Singapore).
In Japan, the University collaborates with Tsukuba University and Waseda University, and our School of Biological Sciences has a link with RIKEN and the Systems Biology Institute, Tokyo.

The first students from Hong Kong came to study Medicine at the University over 70 years ago.
One of our most successful links with Hong Kong is through Universitas 21 partner Hong Kong University, with whom we operate a very popular reciprocal student exchange and conduct a number of collaborative research projects.
Our alumni from Asia include the very first Chinese student to graduate from a European university, Wong Fun. Wong Fun graduated as a doctor of medicine from the University in 1855.
