The lecture, entitled A troubled Europe in a troubled World, will be given following the conferment of an honorary degree by the University earlier in the day.
Mr Lamy, a French politician and a former European Commissioner for Trade, is the fifth Director-General of the World Trade Organisation. He is currently serving his second four-year-term as Director-General.
The lecture will take place on 29 June 2012 in David Hume Tower, Lecture Theatre A, George Square. It is scheduled to begin at 5:15pm and will last for one hour.
The lecture is named after Montague Burton, founder of the clothing chain Burton, who was knighted for his services to industrial relations and who endowed a chair of international relations at Edinburgh in 1948.
