The Queen's Medical Research Institute (QMRI) provides facilities for research into our understanding of common diseases.

Opened in 2005, the Institute is located alongside the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and houses more than 600 staff.
The Institute accommodates several world class research centres, including:
The QMRI is also home to the state-of-the-art Clinical Research Imaging Centre (CRIC).
Completed in 2010, the centre is the first fully integrated imaging facility of its kind in the UK.
The £20 million centre is a partnership between the University and NHS Lothian, jointly managed through the Clinical Research Facility.
